Founded and owned by Nkosinathi Mqokiyana, a very popular Glad Africa club based at Mhlanga Location, Ward 06 in Mbizana – Bizana Pondo Chiefs FC was established in August 2015. It is registered as a Non-Profit Company consisting of three Members – Namely; Mr. Nkosinathi Mqokiyana – the Director and Chairman, Mrs. Zanele Mqokiyana – Director and Shareholder and Mr. Vuyo Ndimeni – Director and Shareholder.
The Club has been running for nearly five years now and has fast positioned itself as a key attraction to local sports persons. The Club has very strong links to its local community and in that time we have had over 700 different young people use our training facilities and equipment more than 300 families have directly benefited from players’ stipends because some of local households are headed by these players. The Club’s most highlight is 2016/2017 overall SAB League Provincial Playoffs championship triumph and became the first team in Bizana Football to gain promotion to ABC Motsepe League and the latest is the promotion to Glad Africa and the ABC Motsepe Champions for 2019/2020 season.
The 2018/19 ABC Motsepe League came to a close with us finishing in the third place running behind champions Tornado FC and runners-up Mthatha Bucks FC. Bizana Pondo Chiefs’ success is not only captured in the annals of history – it made history and went far beyond the beautiful game. We have graduated from the team that had promises and prospects for success to a team that gets things done – we have graduated miracles to the norms.

The purpose and intent of the Bizana Pondo Chiefs Football Club’s philosophy is to promote the advancement of youth soccer in the region, to encourage the development of player skills and abilities, promote programs that teach individual and team skills, and support the development of trained coaches and referees. The goal and value of player participation is to have fun while playing soccer, to develop self-esteem and confidence through skill development while promoting a sense of fair play and good sportsmanship.
